Jasvir Kaur

Program Director & Owner

Jasvir Kaur began her career in developmental disabilities services in her mid-30s and has dedicated nearly 30 years to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. She is passionate about the work she does and finds great fulfillment in helping others achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.

Throughout her career, Jasvir has gained extensive experience in both direct support and leadership roles, giving her a deep understanding of the unique needs of the individuals and families she serves. Her commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care has remained at the heart of everything she does.

As a single mother, Jasvir faced many challenges while building her company from the ground up. Owning and operating her own business had always been a dream, and through hard work, determination, and perseverance, she turned that dream into reality. One of her greatest accomplishments has been the creation and growth of Visionary Independence Program — an organization dedicated to empowering adults with developmental disabilities.

Imranjeet Swaich

Administration Specialist

Imranjeet Swaich’s journey in the field of developmental disabilities began at the age of 16, when she volunteered through her high school. What started as a volunteer opportunity quickly became a passion as she built meaningful connections with the individuals she supported and saw firsthand the positive impact compassionate care can have on someone’s life.

Over the years, that early volunteer experience grew into a lifelong career built on compassion, dedication, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Today, Imranjeet is proud to be part of a family-owned organization dedicated to serving and supporting individuals in reaching their fullest potential.

With years of experience in direct support, program coordination, and leadership, Imranjeet remains committed to helping clients achieve their goals, celebrate their accomplishments, and live fulfilling lives within their communities. She takes pride in providing person-centered support and creating an environment where individuals feel valued, respected, and encouraged to succeed.

Amit Swaich

Workplace Operations Specialist

My name is Amit, and my passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities began at the age of 14, when I first started volunteering and gaining experience in the field. What began as an early opportunity to help others quickly became something I truly enjoyed and felt deeply connected to. Even at a young age, the volunteer experience itself felt incredibly rewarding. Being able to make a difference in someone’s day and support them in reaching their goals gave me a strong sense of purpose.

Through those experiences, I discovered how meaningful it was to help individuals build independence, confidence, and a greater sense of purpose in their lives. I realized that this was more than just a job—it was a career and a calling that I wanted to dedicate myself to.

Over the years, my commitment to this work has only grown stronger. I am passionate about creating opportunities, providing support, and helping each individual reach their personal goals while living as independently and meaningfully as possible.

Amarpreet Sidhu

Schedule Manager

Amar was born in Canada and later relocated to the United States, where he embarked on a completely new professional journey in the developmental disabilities services field. What began as a new career path quickly became a passion, as Amar discovered a deep sense of purpose in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

Over the past eight years, Amar has dedicated himself to helping individuals achieve greater independence, develop meaningful life skills, and accomplish their personal goals. Beginning his career as a Direct Support Professional, he gained valuable hands-on experience working closely with clients and their families, developing a strong understanding of person-centered care, patience, compassion, and advocacy.

The most rewarding aspect of Amar’s work is witnessing the accomplishments and growth of the individuals he supports. His dedication, leadership, and genuine passion for serving the developmental disabilities community continue to make him a valued member of the Visionary Independence Program team.

Holly Schick

Office Manager

Holly Schick holds a Doctorate degree in Management and brings several years of experience working in the Supported Living Services (SLS) and Independent Living Skills (ILS) fields. Her professional background spans program management, staff supervision, scheduling, service coordination, compliance monitoring, and client advocacy. She is dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities by helping ensure they receive quality care, consistent services, and the support needed to reach their personal goals.

Maria Cordova

SLS/ILS Tri-Valley Supervisor Coordinator

Maria holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University. Her career supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities began at Hope Services, where she worked for several years as an Independent Living Skills Instructor. She later joined the Regional Center system, serving in case management where she gained extensive experience, then moved into a supervisory role in Adult Case Management, where she oversaw staff, ensured compliance with case management standards, and provided ongoing advocacy for clients.

In July 2023, Maria joined Visionary Independence Program ILS/SLS team, bringing extensive experience in independent living instruction, case management, supervision, and person‑centered planning. She is committed to helping individuals with intellectual disabilities achieve greater independence, stability, and quality of life.

Lizette Cordova

My name is Lizette and I am a UC Berkeley graduate. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in two distinctions, I majored in Social Welfare and also Gender and Women’s studies. I am passionate about Social Justice, equity, and equality for all. I am very family oriented and an animal lover along with being a nature enthusiast. I have worked with developmentally disabled adults, in various capacities, for well over a decade. I enjoy seeing people thrive in ways that they have been told they could not and I am always willing to be an outlet of support. I will continue to pursue this career and be an advocate for this community.

Hi, I’m Jaskeerat Dyal (JD)! I have proudly been with the Visionary Independence Program (VIP) since the day we opened, and over the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and reaching their personal goals. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and I bring a caring, passionate, and humble approach to the work I do every day. Supporting people in building their skills, confidence, and independence not only makes a meaningful difference in their lives, but also deeply empowers and inspires me. Building strong, meaningful relationships and making a positive impact is what drives me, and I am grateful to be part of such an incredible team.

Shannon Riley

Field Manager

My name is Shannon Riley, and I currently serve as East Bay Manager for the Visionary Independence Program. I hold degrees in both Medical Assisting and Criminal Justice, and I have spent the past 12 years in management roles.

In my work, I support the Bay Area’s neurodivergent community by helping individuals maintain safety and independence within their homes. This mission is especially meaningful to me as a mother of a neurodivergent child, giving me a personal understanding of the importance of ensuring that each individual’s needs and preferences are respected and met.

I bring a strong commitment to promoting autonomy and empowering individuals to have control over their daily decisions and personal goals. I believe that fostering independence within this community is invaluable and plays a critical role in strengthening each person’s ability to thrive. The ability to exercise choice and freedom is fundamental to a fulfilling and self-directed life.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy crocheting and decorating in my free time.

Her caring nature and dedication allow her to create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone she works with.
